Chutney is an independent magazine of everyday stories on cultures and identities from voices of the Global Majority and its diasporas. Each issue explores aspects of homeland, colonial history, nostalgia, migration and more, in hopes of challenging the idea of communities as monoliths and enriching our understanding of, and solidarity with, one another.
Published biennially since 2019, Chutney is designed and edited by Osman Bari. The magazine was started on the traditional territories of the Anishinaabeg—specifically Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation—Haudenosaunee, Chippewa and Wendat, on lands covered by the Dish with One Spoon Wampum Belt Covenant. It is currently published out of London, UK.
From Turtle Island to Palestine, Chutney stands in solidarity with all peoples resisting occupation, genocide and erasure.
